Pride South
Florida, Inc. supports a variety of
organizations that work to promote
charitable activities, educational
programs, and cultural arts in the
South Florida
community. Our funding seeks to
encourage unity by word and action to
all individuals, while working toward
one common goal – to install pride in
the lesbian, gay, transgender and

2007 Grant Recipients

Women In Network
- $2,500
Purpose:
20th Year weekend to
showcase WIN’s charitable, educational
and community impact.
Fort Lauderdale
Gay Men’s Chorus -
$2,500
Purpose: Sponsorship for
season concerts.
Names Project
South Florida - $2,500.
Purpose: To
Continue providing
community displays and workshops of the
AIDS Memorial Quilt for the purpose of
HIV/AIDS education, awareness, and
remembrance in our community.

Flamingo Freedom
Band - $2,300
Purpose: To
support the Bands
20th Anniversary Concert entitled
“Broadway and Beyond” to take place at
the Broward Center for the Performing
Arts.
Arts United
- $2,500
Purpose:
Funding for a Gay
Pride art exhibition entitled “United
and Proud”
Church Of The
Holy Spirit Song- $2,500
Purpose:
Purchase of food for
food pantry and Celebration Recovery
meeting space, workbooks, training, and
materials.

Stonewall
Library - $2,500
Purpose:Sponsorship of
exhibit “Pride: Party or Protest? To
take place at the Stonewall Library And
Archive.

Funding Priorities
Pride South
Florida, Inc. concentrates funding in
the following areas:
Educational
- Materials
and training programs that provide
accurate and sensitive information
about GLBT communities and HIV-Aids
- Programs
that support and/or assist GLBT
people into the community
environment.
Cultural Arts
- Fine
arts, performing arts, and cultural
programs that creatively express and
promote visibility, leadership,
history, and education about and for
the GLBT communities.
- Cultural
arts programs that build bridges
between communities.
Social & Civic
Coalition and
alliance building efforts that promote
leadership training, visibility, and
GLBT, HIV/Aids awareness in the community.

Pridefest
Grant Information and Qualifications:
The
money generated from this Celebration
serves as the primary income producer
for various Grant programs and public
benefit opportunities throughout the
year. These Grant programs include the
following:

Funding Guidelines
To be considered for a Pride South Florida, Inc. grant,
an applicant must:
-
Be a non profit organization, or
provide documentation that the
organization is sponsored under a
fiscal agent umbrella that has a
non-profit status;
- Serve
the community of South Florida.
(Dade or Broward County)
- Have
a history of effort and commitment to reach out and serve the gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgender communities; and,
- If
program granted is an event, PSF
requires to be named as a sponsor of
the event equally to the total of
the grant.
Pride South Florida, Inc. Grants Will Not fund:
- Individuals;
-
fundraising Events.
- Political
lobbying, political candidates or political campaigning.
- Business
or profit making ventures.
- Reimbursement
requests for existing debts;
- Facsimile
transmissions of proposals.

Travel Expenses
-
Capital Improvements on buildings.
-
Organizations not operating as a
non-profit
Evaluation
Report
Please note: all
organizations receiving funding from
Pride South Florida, Inc. grants will be
required to submit a completion
memorandum describing how the funds were
spent and how the program succeeded and
benefited the GLBT community. Completion
memorandum should be no longer than 3
pages and is due February 28,
2009
It must also include the
following:
- Documentation
of expenses (copies of receipts,
statements, etc.)
- Provide
copies of PR, releases, ads, flyers etc. of your event(s).
Publicity
Pride South
Florida, Inc. will require grant
recipients to publicize awards through
articles in their organization’s
newsletters, press releases, flyers and
other announcements. If the award is a
program or event with sponsorship, the
organization must list PSF as a sponsor
at a level equal to the award amount.
